the sirens were speaking your name

the sirens were singing your name

from some astral plane
we were making plans
not even knowing the game
writing about a time that never happened
you wanted to escape these walls
but became like a bathtub overflowing
these strange players that pull some harsh strings
want it to be some other time than now
the magician was conjuring a face like yours
can you open the door?
moving some heavy furniture in the netherworld
see yourself as you were

the sirens were speaking your name
on this night of forgetting beneath a pale moon
something inside you starts to twist and break
and if these pleasures may thee move
come live with me and be my love*

the sirens were speaking your name
strange this sadness that tears at me
i can hear the rain fall
i tire of this constant pain
don't know what heaven looks like
you're wanting a miracle with no money down
who are these pilgrims on their way to holy shrines?
who've lost everything?
the sirens were speaking your name
