threading the labyinthe

the great leaps forward and the ever fixed eye
the vast accumulation with none to share it with
the remembrances of a time that never was
a voice that speaks of love, but can offer none

ships that venture forth in search of some paradise
scoff at all this magic i believe in
the great thinkers and the silent stones
tides ever shifting between my feet
the glorious revolution was not without her casualties
our place of worship taken from us
the skies we slept under remained hushed
the wisdom of the elders left us
the chance we all must take
the pictures of the dead
our final good-bye seemed out of place
as time wanders past,
i am older, but somehow unprepared
love me, so that i might live again
a cut so cruel i have inflicted
a gathering of souls
offer no explanations or solutions
it was on a night such as this
we shared our first kiss
now that all seems so far away
on a night such as this
but where's the life we were running from?
right here you say
